What makes a personalized birthday song work

A birthday song succeeds or fails in the chorus. If the name is sung clearly at least three times, the person hears it, laughs, and the video gets replayed. If the name only shows up once in a verse, it sounds like a generic track with a word swapped in. So the single most important line in your prompt is the instruction to sing the name in the chorus.

The second thing that separates a memorable song from a filler one is specificity. Two or three concrete details beat a list of adjectives: the marathon they finished, the cat that hates everyone but them, the fact that they still use a 2014 phone. Details give the AI something to rhyme with and give the listener a reason to grin.

How to describe the person so the lyrics land

Write the prompt like you would brief a friend who plays guitar at parties: who it is for, how old they turn, two things they love, one running joke, and the mood you want (sweet, silly, roast, epic). Unusual names are sung more reliably when you spell them the way they sound, for example writing Siobhan as Shi-vawn in the prompt, since the model sings what it reads.

Pick a style the person actually listens to. A 70 year old grandmother who loves Motown gets a very different song from a 12 year old who lives on hyperpop, and both are one sentence away. Country, pop punk, mariachi, bossa nova, 80s synth, gospel and acoustic folk all come out convincingly; mention the tempo if you want people to dance (around 120 BPM) or sway (around 90 BPM).

Where people use these songs

The most common uses are a voice message or video sent on the morning of the birthday, the soundtrack for a slideshow of old photos, a surprise played over speakers when the cake comes out, and a clip for an Instagram story. For a slideshow, ask for a slower ballad and a clear final chorus so the last photo has a landing point.
